I was experiencing some problems with my 1940 international pickup. I called another transmissions company, told them the symptoms, and he quoted me on how much it would cost to rebuild or replace the transmission. I wasn't comfortable with that so I called AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care. I talked to Jason and he told me to bring it in to do an inspection on it. I got a tow truck to bring it to the shop, he kept it inside overnight, and called me the next morning with a quote. He fixed my truck in the same day. I picked up the truck and it was still inside protected. It was only a $200 repair and a transmission overhaul wasn't needed. I appreciated his honesty in taking care of the problem and not trying to make money off of the customer. He didn't take advantage of me. If I need additional service I will be back. I referred him to anyone needing transmissions service.
AAMCO Transmissions and Total Car Care is great, even my best friends are now using them. I recently used them for repairing an axle on the back of my BMW. They kept me informed, the man was very helpful in the beginning with rough prices over the telephone as a ballpark, and the other company I was considering using wouldn't do that. He was pleasant and helpful and tried to get us out as quickly as possible.
AAMCO Transmissions and Total Car Care knows what they are doing. They did some transmission work. They also fixed my back window. They also fixed a couple other things. It was all very efficient and they had excellent customer service. I've been a customer for about 4 months and plan to continue.
Would not go back to AAMCO if the rebuilt transmission were free. Had one installed in Corpus Christi, less than 45k later had to have the work redone in Memphis, TN. Now less than 50k having to repair the same issue elsewhere. AAMCO would not honor there warranty. Worse service ever. Less than 100k on 2 rebuilt transmissions for the same vehicle and they say sorry. Not to mention the expense of rental cars, towing and my time wasted. Also, they are very expensive. Much more than having it done locally. If you are thinking since they have so many stores to honor your warranty, forget it. They are Franchises with individual owners whom could care less about honoring a warranty from a different store. I certainly will not return nor will MY Fleet of company vehicles.
As a protection agent, my suburban is a critical piece part of my equipment. It has to be able to transport principals safely. So after a lot of research and talking to Dan at AAMCO Pantego, I took one of the my most valuable tools to have the transmission fixed. I had the truck back in less than a week and it runs great again. I highly recommend AAMCO Pantego.
Dan was very helpful, He answer ever questions and concerns I had. Great customer service and a win win attitude.
Returned a UHaul truck. My phone was dead and the man at the desk gave me a charger to charge it. He was awesome.
